Your headline follows you everywhere in comment sections. What formula do you use for your headline so people instantly know what you do?

I don't think a LinkedIn profile banner and headline need to be changed on a fixed weekly or monthly schedule. A better approach is to update them whenever your professional focus, skills, role, or target audience changes.

For the headline, I would review it every few months and make sure it clearly explains what you currently do and the areas you specialize in. For example, if someone moves from general marketing into SEO, performance marketing, or AI-assisted digital marketing, the headline should reflect that change instead of keeping an outdated description.

The banner can also be refreshed when your professional focus changes. It should support your profile rather than look like a constant advertisement. Keeping the design simple and relevant usually makes the profile look more professional.

I also think it's useful to review the rest of the profile at the same time—especially the About, Experience, Skills, and Featured sections. LinkedIn recommends keeping profile information accurate and complete, rather than repeatedly adding the same keywords or using the profile primarily as an advertisement
