Would You Hire an Experienced PPC Specialist or a Popular One?

A strong online presence can open doors, but managing a company's advertising budget requires more than knowing the right people. I would be more interested in seeing how a specialist handles spending decisions, identifies underperforming campaigns, and turns data into better results. When choosing someone for this role, would you put more weight on their actual performance or their reputation in the industry?

Actual experience would matter more to me when choosing someone to manage paid ads. Having a big following doesn't automatically mean they know how to handle a campaign or make the most of a budget. Someone who understands the numbers and knows what to fix when things aren't working would be a better choice, especially when the company's money is on the line.

I'd hire someone with actual experience because popularity doesn't always reflect how good a person is at their job. Some people have a strong online presence but can't necessarily deliver the same results when it comes to managing a real campaign. I'd rather trust someone who can show what they've accomplished and how they handle a budget than someone who's simply well-known in the industry.

I'd prefer someone who has both experience and popularity, as long as they can back up their reputation with actual results. With AI becoming more involved in PPC, I'd value a specialist who knows how to use these tools while still making sound decisions independently.

I'd look at experience and actual campaign results first. A popular specialist might have a strong personal brand, but that doesn't automatically mean they can manage a budget effectively or improve conversions. I'd ask for relevant case studies and how they measure success before making a decision.
