Although it’s a must for every business to keep track of their expenses, how detailed are you when it comes to tracking every small cost?

I mean, not necessarily. I’d probably focus more on the bigger expenses and anything that happens regularly, but it would be nice to include the smaller costs too since they can add up over time.

Certainly, yes. Although small expenditures seem insignificant, they can accumulate and become more significant than expected. Moreover, it will be possible to analyze the distribution of expenses without guesses and assumptions, which is also essential.

Having a clear record also makes it much easier to spot patterns and figure out where adjustments might be needed.

As much as possible, yes. I usually keep the receipts or note them down right away so I don’t forget where the money went.

Small expenses are easy to overlook when you're focused on the bigger costs, but they can reveal a lot about where the business is spending unnecessarily. Reviewing transactions regularly, whether daily or monthly, helps business owners spot patterns, evaluate past decisions, and identify areas where they can cut back without affecting operations. Keeping those records organized also makes it easier to plan future expenses and make smarter financial decisions. So yes, you need to keep track of every business expense.
