Sometimes the problem isn’t the workload but the way the client communicates and makes decisions. What’s the biggest red flag you’ve encountered?
Having everything agreed on from the start can save a lot of headaches later. It also helps to keep a record of any changes so everyone stays on the same page.In my experience, the hardest clients are those who are constantly shifting goalposts. Without proper communication, it is hard to understand what exactly they want. I believe that most issues can be solved with proper communication.
Setting clear expectations early on can save both sides a lot of frustration. It makes the whole working relationship smoother when everyone knows what to expect.I think it’s the ones who are really indecisive about what they want, while offering very little but still expecting a lot in return. There should be a balance where both sides get the maximum value from what they’re bringing to the table.
That must have been exhausting to deal with. It’s hard to make progress when the goalposts keep moving, especially when you’ve already put time and effort into the agreed plan.I remember this one client who kept changing what they wanted after every update. We’d agree on one direction, then they’d come back with something completely different, so the project kept going in circles.
