Group boards used to be the fastest way to get repins, but many say they've lost effectiveness. Are you still active in group boards, or sticking to your own?
I treat group boards as a secondary distribution channel now, not the core strategy. A tightly moderated board with active contributors can still help, but I would prioritize personal boards, fresh pins, and search-focused topics because those assets remain under your control.
One useful safeguard is to evaluate the same pin across comparable boards rather than judging total board traffic. If the group board brings saves but almost no qualified clicks, it may be feeding vanity metrics. I’d keep a small test set and review it quarterly, since moderation quality and audience relevance can change over time.A performance comparison is the right filter. I’d also look at whether a group board sends impressions to the same audience you want on your own boards; a few saves from a mismatched audience can create noise without qualified traffic. If the board lacks clear moderation, topic discipline, and recent contributor activity, it is probably not worth maintaining.
