I have finished a project, sent all the files, and waited for the client to settle the payment, only to realize that the due date has already passed. It's an awkward situation because you don't want to sound pushy or make things uncomfortable, but you've also done your part and deserve to be paid. How would you remind a client about an overdue invoice while keeping things professional?

Just send them a polite but direct reminder that the payment is already due. You spent your time and effort completing the project, so there's nothing wrong with following up on what you're owed. You don't have to feel guilty about asking to be paid for work you've already delivered. As long as you communicate professionally, their reaction shouldn't stop you from standing up for the value of your work.
