What Happens When Your Ad Gets Clicks but Nobody Stays?

I've noticed that getting people to click an ad doesn't always mean they'll be interested in what's on the website. Sometimes, they might click because the ad caught their attention, only to leave when they can't find what they're looking for. If you were running that campaign, what would you check first to figure out why people keep leaving?

I’d look at the bounce rate and see which pages people leave the most. That would give me a better idea of where visitors lose interest and what needs to be improved.

Page loading speed and mobile usability would be my first checks. Even interested visitors can leave if a page takes too long to load or is difficult to navigate, especially when they're browsing on their phones.

Sometimes it comes down to how the page is presented. If visitors can’t find what they need right away or the content feels confusing, they might leave without giving it a chance. Even a few small tweaks could make a difference.

This is completely normal for an ad campaign, especially when you're still figuring out what works for your audience. I'd start by checking whether the landing page matches what the ad promises, since people are more likely to stay when they find exactly what they expected.

Checking the audience is worth doing too. You could have a decent ad, but if it keeps reaching people who aren't really interested in the offer, you're just spending money on clicks that won't lead anywhere. Reaching the right people matters just as much as getting their attention.
