What if your client keeps asking for your opinion but rejects every suggestion?

It can get a little tricky when a client asks for your input but ends up going with their own ideas every time. You want to help them get good results, but you also don't want every discussion to turn into a back-and-forth that leads nowhere. Would you keep explaining your recommendations, try to understand what they really want, or just follow their lead? How would you handle it?
