What Should an SEO Report Explain Beyond Rankings?

When evaluating an SEO service, a ranking screenshot alone does not explain what work created the result or what should happen next. Which details do you expect in a useful monthly report—completed technical fixes, links earned, content changes, traffic quality, and priorities for the next month? I would also want assumptions and unresolved risks stated clearly.

A useful report should connect each completed action to a business or search objective. I would expect technical issues fixed, pages changed, links acquired with their destinations, organic conversions, and any movement in non-brand traffic—not just keyword positions. The next-month section should name priorities, expected impact, and anything blocked by the client so the report becomes a decision document rather than a scorecard.

I agree. If you don't see this information it may not give you a full picture of what you need to do or how SEO is helping drive traffic on your site.
